The PRO XL501 Chipper Shredder does it all. Its shredding action is produced by 24 serrated, free-swinging hammers in combination with our unique Shark-Teeth™ Shearing Fins. This superior shedding technology reduces lighter materials 20:1...pulverizing leaves, sticks and other yard and garden waste (up to 1.5" thick) into a fine mulch that you can compost or till into your soil. And its side chipper chute will demolish branches up to 5" in diameter. The PRO XL501 lets you get all of your yard cleanup done with one versatile machine.

Oversized Hoppers
The shredder hopper opening is 19″ x 17″, big enough to accept multiple stalks up to 1.5″ thick along with side branches and leaves. The chipper opening (8″ x 14″) accepts branches up to 5″ in diameter.

Shark-Teeth™ Shearing Fins
Patent pending. These fins (10) create channels in the bottom of the shredding chamber for the serrated hammers to swing through. They provide additional sharp surfaces to help tear apart yard and garden waste, including the fibrous green branches (up to 1.5” in diameter) that will jam up underpowered machines.
Serrated Shredding Hammers
Our unique, serrated shredding hammers use their jagged edges to pulverize materials fed into the shredder hopper and reduce it by 20:1. The result is a fine “pre-composted” mulch that can enrich your garden soil. Hammers are reversible and can also be rehung from the opposite hole to provide fresh surfaces for chewing up materials up to 1.5” in diameter.
Briggs and Stratton OHV Engine
The PRO XL501 Chipper Shredders uses a durable 13.5 HP (420cc) Overhead Valve engine with electric-start. It features a debris management system that protects the engine from whatever you kick up while you’re chipping and shredding.
Pro-Spec™ Chipper Knife
Made of high-carbon/high-chromium forged alloy tool steel, our knives hold an edge longer than those on “bargain” chippers. Still, as with any cutting tool, keeping a sharp edge is important for maintaining peak performance. We recommend keeping an extra on hand so you can minimize downtime.
